A 14-year-old bicyclist was hit by a pickup truck in Mechanic Falls on Friday night.
The child was riding a bicycle south on North Street about 7:10 p.m. when they were hit by a northbound red 2024 Dodge truck, according to the Mechanic Falls Police Department.
The teen was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where they were treated for serious injuries, the department said early Saturday morning.
Police have released few details about the crash. The Portland Press Herald reported that the victim was 14 years old.
The crash remains under investigation.
