Bangor’s Family Dollar store is closing, according to banners put up outside the store Wednesday afternoon.
The 89 State St. store is the Queen City’s only Family Dollar, although it’s one of many dollar stores in town — including a Dollar General right across York Street.
Everything in the store is on sale, the banners advertised.
The store’s district manager referred questions to the corporate office, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Dollar Tree sold the Family Dollar company last year to a pair of private equity groups, Brigade Capital Management and Macellum Capital Management, following a brief merger that led to changes in Family Dollar’s business strategy.
