A Brunswick man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when he crashed his moped in Harpswell.
Louis Smith, 45, was riding a black 2024 JIANG moped on Route 24, also known as Harpswell Island Road, about 3:50 p.m. when he lost control at the intersection with Cundy’s Harbor Road, left the road and crashed into a ditch, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Smith, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
