Erika Kirk celebrated her son’s 2nd birthday in the wake of her husband Charlie Kirk’s death.
“Daddy was the first to hold you,” Erika, 37, wrote to her son via X on Thursday, May 14, alongside a montage of footage from the day of his birth. “Together, we spoke over you all the prayers and blessings for your future. “
She went on, “I can’t help but rewatch these videos, endlessly, and I know as you grow up, you’ll be the same way. There’s moments I wish I could step back into…especially the moments of your ‘firsts’ that daddy was alive to witness.”
Erika described her son — whose name and face she has chosen to keep private — as “forever our little love” and “the little peacemaker” in their family. (Erika and Charlie also shared a daughter, who was born in April 2022.)
“It’ll be the honor of my life to witness you becoming a trailblazer for the truth, for goodness, for patience, for joy, and for faithfulness, with the presence of the Holy Spirit and all the angels in Heaven, including Daddy, cheering you on,” she wrote. “Happy 2nd Birthday sweet boy. You heal my broken heart in ways I’ll never be able to articulate.”
The new Turning Point USA CEO’s husband, conservative activist Charlie, was fatally shot during a speech on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10, 2025. His alleged shooter, Tyler James Robinson, was apprehended the following day and subsequently charged with aggravated murder, felony use of a firearm, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Robinson, 22, has yet to formally enter a plea.
Erika has marked several significant milestones since her husband’s murder, including commemorating what would have been their fifth wedding anniversary on May 8.

“Even though our kids won’t see our love ‘grow old together’ from an earthly stand point; they’ll see it from a Heavenly one,” Erika tweeted at the time. “And I’ll tell them of our love story any moment I can.”
She added, “Happy Anniversary to the love of my life.”
Erika recently spoke out after being in attendance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 25, where shots rang out in the lobby of the Washington Hilton. A Secret Service agent was injured when suspected shooter Cole Tomas Allen allegedly opened fire during the annual political event attended by President Donald Trump, first lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other officials from their administration.

Allen, 31, was apprehended during the incident and later charged with attempting to assassinate the president of the United States, transportation of a firearm and ammunition in interstate commerce with intent to commit a felony and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence. He entered a not guilty plea on May 11.
After being whisked out of the Hilton in tears, Erika condemned the shooting as “another traumatic example of the evil in our country and the continued rise in political violence.”
“I’m taking time to spend with my family,” she added via X on April 27.
