Tom Brady may have seven Super Bowl rings, but there’s one athletic arena where he thinks his daughter could outshine him — the Olympic Games.
On April 20, the 48-year-old former quarterback took to Instagram to share a video of him and his 13-year-old daughter, Vivian Lake, playing volleyball outside during a nighttime session. His caption left little doubt about his confidence in her future.
“Saturday nights with my future Olympian,” he wrote. “I think I finally found someone who likes practice more than I did.”

It didn’t take long for the comment section to turn into a recruiting portal as multiple American and Brazilian volleyball players voiced their support.
Tom Brady’s Most Honest Quotes About Fatherhood
Team USA’s volleyball team was among the first to respond.
“Putting in the work! Swing by the National Team gym anytime!” Team USA’s volleyball team commented under the April 20 video.
Vivian’s mom, Gisele Bündchen, is Brazilian, and that connection drew attention from South American volleyball stars as well.
“Wowww👏👏 Amazingggg, and you of need any help, just let us know,” professional volleyball player Carol Gattaz, who won a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics with Brazil, added.
“The Brazilian in her,” Brazilian beach volleyball player Melissa Humana-Paredes wrote, while former Olympic gold medalists Giba and Fabiana Alvim also commented.
On the American side, Micah Christenson — a two-time Olympic bronze medalist — complimented Vivian’s “impressive form” and Dustin Watten invited her to his May 3 clinic in Miami.
Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor — who won three Olympic gold medalists for Team USA in beach volleyball — also commented.
Other athletes were quick to share their support as well.
“You met your match and some,” former professional footballer David Beckham wrote.
“Let’s go Vivi!” two-time Olympic gold medalist ice dancer Evan Bates added, while USWNT legend Carli Lloyd wrote, “If she wants to be a setter, call me.”
Tom Brady Rules Out His Own Olympic Dreams
The video comes one month after Brady marked his official return to football at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, which was held on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Flag football will make its official Olympic debut at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.
Tom Brady Says His Kids ‘Outshine’ the Sun in Sweet Hall of Fame Speech
In the week leading up to the tournament, Brady said he “would never say never” when asked about the possibility of competing in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles while on Good Morning America.
Brady went on to describe his involvement as a player as “unlikely,” but he did express interest in an advisory or coach role if the opportunity arose.
He further shut down any rumors of him playing in the Olympics at the event on March 21.
“No,” he said when asked, per Olympics.com. “LA28 will be a lot of guys like you saw out there on the field, trying to be their best and showcase their skill set in front of a global audience.”
With that door closed, it seems Vivian may be the one to carry the family name to the Olympic stage.
Tom Brady Is the Ultimate Sports Dad
While no one knows what Vivian’s future holds, Brady has made it clear he’ll be there every step of the way — even if his kids don’t always want him around.
“I’m probably pretty irritating to them,” he said of supporting his kids’ sports endeavors during a March appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“They want me to stand outside the arena when they’re playing. They’re like, ‘Dad, don’t come in here,’” he added.
Luckily for Brady, he found a way to attend their games and practices while remaining incognito.
“I always — especially when I go to the opposing schools — [wear] the hat, hoodie, [and sit] as far down, as far away from every other parent,” he said, “because you just want the attention focused on the kids, and that’s where it should be.”
