‘Running Point’ (2025 – Present)
In the first season of the basketball comedy Running Point, Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) took over control of her family’s basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves, and almost brought a championship home to the city. But “almost” is the operative word, and now Isla’s reign as president is no longer a sure thing. The team’s finances are in trouble, and the news media are already painting Isla’s tenure as a failure.

Some of that misfortune may be the work of Isla’s older brother, Cam Gordon (Justin Theroux). He used to be the president of the Waves, and he wants that job back, even if he has to undermine his sister every step of the way. If Isla can’t make the Waves into champions, then Cam may have the support he needs to force Isla out of power. But she’s not about to give up that easily, and neither are the players under her. She will, however, have to find a new coach for the team, and that presents some challenges on its own.
Running Point season 2 will stream on Netflix on April 23.
‘Man on Fire’ (2026)
If you saw the 2004 adaptation of Man on Fire starring Denzel Washington, then you should have a good idea of what to expect from the modern reboot. Unlike that film, the updated Man on Fire will adapt the original novel and its sequel, The Perfect Kill, written by A. J. Quinnell.
Wonder Man‘s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is taking over Washington’s role as former special forces mercenary John Creasy. After a lifetime of violence, Creasy is having a difficult time finding a reason to keep on living. He finds a new purpose as the bodyguard and protector of a teenager, Poe Rayburn (Billie Boullet). But when Poe is kidnapped and held for ransom, Creasy will unleash Hell on Earth to get her back and to make her captors pay. They poked the bear, and this bear pokes back.
Man on Fire will stream on Netflix on April 30.
‘Trust Me: The False Prophet’ (2026)
Trust Me: The False Prophet is a true crime documentary series that follows up on the previous show, Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey. Both were directed by Rachel Dretzin, but the latter dealt with the Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saints under the self-proclaimed prophet Warren Jeffs, who is currently serving life in prison for sexually abusing minors.
The new series follows Christine Marie and her husband, Tolga Katas, as they infiltrate an even more cult-like offshoot from the FLDS led by Samuel Bateman. Marie was convinced that Bateman was abusing the young girls that he had taken as his brides, but the only way to get proof of his crimes was to ingratiate herself with him and let her husband capture the incriminating moments on film.
