A Maryland mom is asking the public for its help in finding her 16-year-old daughter, who has not been seen or heard from since earlier this month.
Jamiya Dority was last seen at around 7:30 p.m. on April 4 in the Temple Hills section of a town called Suitland. She was dressed in a white crop top and black pants, according to police. The 5-foot-tall teen weighs around 150 pounds, according to Prince George’s County Police.
“She also goes by Miya,” her mother, Johniece Coleman, told WUSA. “Pinky is her baby name.”
Coleman appeared during a public event the evening of Monday, April 13, and issued a desperate plea for help.
“Jamiya, you’re loved. We need you to come home,” Coleman said to WUSA. “Help bring my daughter home. She’s needed at home. She also has a cat who loves her very much. He misses her.”

Coleman told the station that her daughter was grounded at the time she vanished. The mother said that the girl was last seen climbing off a balcony at a relative’s home.
She has not been heard from since, though, investigators said.
Coleman said that her daughter previously left her home after being grounded the first time.
However, the last time that Jamiya left unsupervised, she returned after three days, Coleman explained.
Now, with this second grounding, it’s been well over a week, and this time, Jamiya left her phone behind.
“She has that popping personality,” Coleman offered to WUSA. “She needs to come home. We miss her energy. We miss her bubbly self.”
Coleman said that the longer she goes without Jamiya, the more stressed she becomes — and the harder it is to cling to the hope she’s safe.

“I’m a nervous wreck. It’s a lot,” Coleman said.
Investigators have not said where they believe Jamiya may be, or who they think she may be with.
