BANGOR — A transformative new housing project is set to be presented near Stillwater Avenue, bringing an approximately 500-unit apartment complex to Bangor. Moving through the permitting process and planning board this summer and fall and slated to begin construction in the spring of 2025, this ambitious development promises to enhance the local housing market and offer a modern living experience for the Bangor community, at more affordable prices.

The project, developed by Bangor natives Justin & Nicole Freeman, aims to address the growing demand for high-quality housing in the Bangor area. The complex will feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments catering to a diverse range of residents, from young professionals and families to elderly individuals looking for first level single floor living. The anticipated date for initial construction is spring of 2025, with leases expected to be available for signing as early as the fall of 2025 if all the permitting and design process goes to plan. Engineering firm Haley-Ward, also located in Bangor, is currently undertaking site plan and infrastructure designs and local contractors will be used throughout the construction process.

“We’re also hoping this project, both designed, constructed and hopefully financed locally will continue to promote Bangor’s economic engine while providing meaningful growth in the number of quality units available to residents and newcomers to Bangor,” said Justin Freeman.

“We are thrilled to announce the commencement of this significant development off Stillwater Avenue. Our goal is to create a vibrant community that offers exceptional living spaces and amenities, contributing positively to the local economy and the quality of life in Bangor at a price point more individuals can attain and not forcing individuals to continually stretch their finances.”

Strategically located on Stillwater Avenue, the complex will offer convenient access to I-95, shopping centers, schools, and healthcare facilities. Its proximity to the University of Maine and downtown Bangor ensures that residents will enjoy both suburban tranquility and urban amenities.

JNF Properties has committed to incorporating sustainable building practices throughout the construction process. The complex will feature energy-efficient appliances, green building materials, and environmentally friendly landscaping to minimize its ecological footprint and promote sustainable living.

As the project progresses through design and permitting, JNF Properties will keep the community informed with regular updates and milestones. Interested parties are encouraged to stay connected through the project’s official website for the latest news and leasing information.
