Versant Power has tapped a veteran of the energy sector for its new president.
Erica Young assumed that role Friday, according to Versant Power, which announced the leadership change Monday morning.
She succeeds John Flynn to lead one of Maine’s largest utilities.
“I’m honored to join the dedicated team at Versant Power,” Young said in a statement. “I look forward to getting to know our employees, customers, and community partners as we continue to deliver essential service and support Maine’s energy future.”
Young most recently served as executive vice president of Versant’s parent company, ENMAX Energy, a utility wholly owned by the city of Calgary in Canada. Before that she served as ENMAX’s chief legal, commercial and regulatory officer, overseeing, among other things, government relations and public policy.
She brings 25 years of experience within the energy sector to the role, including prior service at NaturEner Energy Service and Total Energy Services.
