What part of the U.S. unholy war with Iran is a victory? The accidental killing of 168 school children? The incessant, indiscriminate bombing of civilian neighborhoods? The gleeful reports of and justification for rampant destruction?
I am a board member of Faith Linking in Action (FLIA), a faith-based organization dedicated to the peaceful caring for those in our community who are struggling to get by. We believe we are called upon to strongly oppose this war of choice that will only leave a trail of brutal bloodshed in its wake.
It is the most vulnerable, the poorest both in our country and in the world at large, who will suffer the greatest hardship from this war. In addition to the tragic loss of lives and community, the skyrocketing prices on food alone disproportionately affects those experiencing poverty.
Our representatives need a reminder of what our priorities should be. Give them a call.
