If you are an outdoor enthusiast, as I am, then Matt Dunlap is our candidate for the 2nd Congressional District. I believe no one has done more to develop and support popular recreational activities including snowmobiling, boating, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
Matt co-chaired the Legislature’s Inland Fish and Wildlife Committee while I was commissioner of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. During that period, I watched him take the lead on a wide variety of initiatives that are important to those who love the outdoors.
For example, his hard work led to improved hunting and fishing opportunities for Mainers of all ages, with special new programs for youth. He supported land conservation efforts that ensured public access and protected important wildlife habitat. He helped to develop the lifetime hunting and fishing license program as well as the current moose lottery system. These are just a few of his many achievements.
I believe no individual has contributed more to the conservation of our natural resources and the recreational activities that are so important to the 2nd District. In everything he has done, Matt met new challenges with hard work and success.
