As 2025 Skift research reveals, 86 percent of travelers are prioritizing immersive experiences over traditional sightseeing, with millennials and Gen Z driving the change. A 2026 European Travel Commission study found long-haul visitors increasingly drawn to local, authentic experiences beyond the usual tourism routes.
