As their first anniversary approaches, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are already looking to the future.
“Justin is showing Katy his new home, where he wants her to live part of the year with him,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
The Gazette reported in February that Trudeau, 54, bought a two-story, nearly 5,000-square foot house in Montreal’s affluent Outremont borough for $3.1 million. The insider points out that it is located “just blocks away” from the home that the former Canadian prime minister shared with his now-estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, and their three children: sons Xavier, 18, and Hadrien, 12, and daughter Ella-Grace, 17. (The former couple separated in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. Their divorce is ongoing.)
A sales deed obtained by the local newspaper listed Trudeau as the sole buyer of his new seven-bedroom, five-bathroom abode, but there is plenty of space for California girl Perry, 41, and her 5-year-old daughter, Daisy, whom the pop star shares with her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom.

“It’s large enough for a blended family,” the source notes, “and in a prestigious neighborhood where he used to live.”
A second insider tells Us that Perry’s “home base” is still Montecito, California, where she and Bloom, 49, own a $15 million mansion. (The exes reportedly began renting out the property after splitting last year.) Daisy also goes to school in the ritzy Santa Barbara town.
“Orlando and Katy have a good rhythm with coparenting, so that’s where Katy spends the majority of her time unless she is traveling on tour,” the second source adds.
For the time being, Perry and Trudeau are “still navigating a long-distance relationship,” according to the second insider, but it “hasn’t been an issue” for either of them: “They’ve found a rhythm that works and make a point to see each other as often as possible.”

The unlikely couple went public with their romance in July 2025 before Perry made it Instagram official that December. Since then, the “Firework” singer has continued to share glimpses of her life with Trudeau via social media in addition to making public appearances with the politician, including a recent outing in Montreal.
“The majority of the time was spent between Justin’s new home in Outremont and Justin’s friends’ places in Westmount,” the first source shares with Us. “They lived like locals — they shopped for food, attended dinner parties as a couple, took walks and, most importantly, watched the Montreal Canadiens beat the Carolina Hurricanes.”
While Trudeau’s beloved team has since been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the insider quips, “If Justin is Katy’s ‘love of her life,’ then she must also love hockey, and especially the Habs.”
