Maine firefighters continue to prove they are indeed the friend all pets need.
On Wednesday, River the dog got up onto the roof of a two-story apartment building on Main Street in Westbrook, according to the union representing the city’s firefighters.
Getting off the roof proved much harder for the pup.
At least until Westbrook’s firefighters arrived with a ladder truck to safely remove the dog.
“River the dog was very appreciative to be back on the ground,” the union wrote in a social media post.
If you think that’s something, you should have seen the surprise that awaited South Portland firefighters who answered a call to help a pooch off a roof back in 2019: a 155-pound St. Bernard.
Now that’s a lot of dog.
