Tina Fey came to Timothée Chalamet’s defense after the Oscar nominee was called out for “manspreading” at a recent New York Knicks game.
Fey, 56, was spotted courtside next to Chalamet, 30, his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and Ben Stiller at the Knicks’ NBA first-round playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks on April 28. After pictures emerged online of the stars, some social media users accused the actor of “manspreading” (that is, the act of spreading his legs widely) and encroaching on Fey’s space.
The 30 Rock creator and star was quizzed about the reaction during a Wednesday, May 27, appearance on the “New Heights” podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, clearing up any notion of drama between her and Chalamet.
“I should start by saying that Timothée Chalamet was nothing but lovely, super friendly. It wasn’t ’til the next day that I saw all these manspreading things,” she said.

“But I will say, you gotta remember, for every amount that he’s sitting like this and manspreading, I’m doing the opposite,” she continued. “I got a big ol’ can. Timothée’s legs took the front, my big old can was taking the back. We had no beef. It was all good.”
Chalamet and Jenner, 28, have attended several Knicks games this season, cheering on his favorite team to multiple victories.
“One of my first games, I was 10 years old, was the Denver Nuggets vs. the New York Knicks,” the Wonka actor said on the “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony” podcast in December 2025. “If you look at the footage … I snuck down with my buddy. We’re on the tunnel exit and you can see the players. You can see a little kid going nuts on the players! That was me! That was a crazy game to be at.”
In fact, Chalamet is such a big Knicks fan that he skipped the 2026 Met Gala on May 4 to attend the NBA team’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Jenner attended fashion’s biggest night solo.

Chalamet and Jenner have been going strong since early 2023, with Chalamet inviting his girlfriend as his date to various awards ceremonies, including this year’s Oscars.
In January, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the young couple are getting serious about their future together.
“They are very serious and have talked about getting engaged this year,” the insider said.
“Kylie has never dated someone like him, and it’s been refreshing because they have a very easy, chill relationship,” a second source told Us in January. “They basically live together at this point. Kylie will stay at his house when she doesn’t have the kids or when she wants to be in the city, and he spends a lot of time at her house.”
