Appoints Jessica Everett, Shelly Lowell and Nanook Tuefferd to vice presidents of the bank

SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan Savings Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of three members of its mortgage lending team to vice president roles. Jessica Everett and Shelly Lowell have been promoted to vice president community bankers and will continue to assist the bank’s customers with their mortgage lending needs. Nanook Tuefferd has been promoted to vice president mortgage operations manager, where he will continue to oversee the bank’s loan processing, mortgage underwriting and loan servicing teams.

Collectively Everett, Lowell and Tuefferd have over 86 years of banking experience, including 56 years combined at Skowhegan Savings.

“Jessie, Shelly and Nanook bring exceptional knowledge, leadership and dedication to their roles,” Dan Tilton, president and CEO of Skowhegan Savings Bank, said. “Their commitment to our customers, coworkers and communities reflects the strength of our organization and is deserving of recognition.”

Everett started her banking career at Skowhegan Savings over 22 years ago as a teller before moving to loan servicing and then being promoted to a community banker. Out of the bank’s Skowhegan branch, she currently assists customers with their home buying, refinancing, construction and home equity loan needs in Somerset County.

“Guiding home buyers through the process is more than a transaction for me – it’s a commitment to helping individuals and families find the right foundation for their future,” Everett said. “I look forward to continuing that work while building strong relationships and supporting the communities we serve.”

“Jessie is known for going above and beyond to help customers and finding the right solutions for their needs,” Andrew Fortin-Trimble, senior vice president and chief banking officer, said. “Her clear guidance and personal approach reflect the values of Skowhegan Savings.”

Everett obtained her associate’s degree in business administration from Thomas College. She has served on the Main Street Skowhegan Community Enhancement Committee and the TIF Committee for the Town of Norridgewock. She was recognized with the Spirit of America Award by the Town of Norridgewock in 2022 for her commitment to the community and for being instrumental in the organization of their Back-to-School Backpack Drive.

She lives in Skowhegan with her family.

Lowell brings more than 33 years of experience in retail and commercial banking, including over 13 years as a mortgage lender at Skowhegan Savings Bank. She began her career in 1993 and progressed through a variety of commercial lending, operations and management roles.

She joined Skowhegan Savings in 2013 as assistant branch manager and was later promoted to branch manager and community banker in Farmington. Today, she works with mortgage customers throughout the Franklin County region from the bank’s Rangeley and Kingfield branches.

“The most rewarding part of my job is helping customers find solutions that make their homeownership goals a reality,” Lowell said. “I’m proud to provide a true community banking experience and the benefits of working with a local bank.”

“Shelly represents the heart of community banking at Skowhegan Savings,” Fortin-Trimble said. “Her experience and integrity, along with her strong commitment to customers, make her an important resource for our customers and our lending team.”

Lowell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Thomas College. She resides in Rangeley with her husband and has served on the town’s select board, as well as its budget and regional economic opportunity committees.

Tuefferd joined Skowhegan Savings in 2004 with more than a decade of banking experience. He began as branch manager and mortgage loan officer before being promoted to mortgage operations manager in 2014.

In his role, Tuefferd oversees loan operations including mortgage underwriting, mortgage and commercial loan processing and loan servicing. His leadership has guided the bank through significant lending growth while supporting increasingly complex operational needs.

“At the heart of everything we do is the customer experience,” Tuefferd said. “My focus is ensuring that our teams deliver consistent, efficient and high‑quality service that supports our customers and our lenders at every step of the process.”

“Nanook’s leadership and commitment to innovation continue to strengthen how we support our customers and lending teams,” Vicki Alward, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Skowhegan Savings Bank, said.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Tuefferd lives in central Maine with his wife. He serves as chair of the Maine Bankers Association Operations Committee, has served on several local health‑focused boards and is a Registered Maine Guide.
