Two teens have been accused of a pair of burglaries at a Turner cannabis dispensary.
The teens — ages 13 and 15 — have been charged with two counts each of burglary, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and aggravated criminal mischief, as well as unauthorized use of property, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
The two suspects, whose identities aren’t being made public because of their age, allegedly broke into 45 North Cannabis Co. on Auburn Road about 3:15 a.m. on May 5.
They fled in a stolen black vehicle with an undisclosed amount of product. Police later found that vehicle in Augusta.
The dispensary was burglarized just days earlier, on April 30, and police have found a white Toyota SUV connected to that case.
Their Monday arrests came after a three-week investigation into a string of burglaries and vehicle thefts across Kennebec and Androscoggin counties.
The pair were arrested in Waterville after fleeing from police in Hancock County, where they are among five people — including one adult, 18-year-old Lorando Sweeting— suspected in a string of smash-and-grabs in the Ellsworth area.
The teens were taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center, the state’s youth prison in South Portland.
Another burglary over the weekend at Lisbon Cannabis on Canal Street in Lisbon Falls remains under investigation. In that case, four masked suspects broke in and stole merchandise and cash before fleeing in a vehicle reported stolen out of Auburn.
