Katie Holmes is our street style inspo for effortless everyday style, but when she steps out for a big glitzy event, we’re ready to take notes, too. Lately, we’ve seen her rock elegant black gowns for galas and events alike, however, it was her latest evening look that made Us stop in our tracks and think, “Hey, we can actually copy this look.”
The Happy Hours director and actress took to Instagram to show off her Bvlgari floor-length gown, which feels sleek and polished yet wearable. The Story flitted away at the 24-hour mark (although it’s still on her stylist’s page), but her dress made a lasting impression. And while her off-the-shoulder designer pick is definitely out of our budget, the style is simple enough to replicate with this on-sale maxi dress on hand.

The Zesica One-Shoulder Maxi Dress has a similar neckline, fitted bodice and flowy skirt as Holmes to channel her elegant style without the celeb price tag. And sure, there are some minor differences, but honestly, no one will be able to tell once you strut through the doors. We adore that this one has a wider ‘shoulder strap’ that hides away the bra strap and the pleats in the skirt, which looks so graceful as you walk.

Made with a blend of stretchy, soft materials, the dress feels comfortable against the body and molds to your shape nicely. You’ll also appreciate the breathable fabric and elevated, silky texture that make the dress appear to cost ten times as much. Shoppers even say that they’re surprised by the high-end quality, too.
The black shade really seals the deal, allowing you to mimic Holmes’ event-ready shade. But if you want something bolder and vacation-worthy, go with one of the other 12 available colors, including red, pink, beige or blue.
