The Pentagon has released a batch of files pertaining to the existence of UFOs.
“While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President [Donald] Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public,” the Pentagon wrote in a Friday, May 8, statement shared with Politico. “[Citizens] can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files.”
The Defense Department recently launched a new website, which includes images of unidentified flying objects and documents detailing alleged alien sightings.
“As for my promise to you, the Department of War has released the first tranche of the UFO/UAP files to the Public for their review and study,” Trump, 79, wrote via his Truth Social platform on Friday. “In an effort for complete and maximum transparency, it was my honor to direct my administration to identify and provide government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects.”

He continued, “Whereas previous administrations have failed to be transparent on this subject, with these new documents and videos, the people can decide for themselves, ‘WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?’ Have fun and enjoy!”
While the documents were released, the government has not made any official statement about what is found in the pictures.
“The materials archived here are unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena,” the website reads. “This can occur for a variety of reasons, including a lack of sufficient data and the Department of War welcomes the application of private-sector analysis, information and expertise … Under this administration, we will pursue the truth and share our findings with the American people.”
Former president Barack Obama, meanwhile, previously alleged that extraterrestrials do exist, but he doesn’t have evidence.

“I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51,” Obama, 64, told podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen in February. “There’s no underground facility — unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.”
Months later, Obama further stressed that the U.S. government hasn’t been hiding “little green men underground.”
“One of the things you learn as president is [that the] government is terrible at keeping secrets,” he said on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert earlier this month. “If there were aliens, or alien spaceships, or anything under the control of the U.S. government that we knew about, [had] seen, photographs. … I promise you some guy guarding the installation would have taken a selfie with one of the aliens and sent it to his girlfriend to impress them. It would leak.”
