
University of Maine sophomore first baseman Kaelyn Larkin was named to the All-America East Softball Second Team and to the All-Rookie team.
Larkin transferred to UMaine for the second semester last season and didn’t play.
Black Bear junior center fielder Kiera Inman and senior pitcher Alysen Reith were selected to the conference’s All-Academic team.
Binghamton third baseman Rachel Carey was named the conference’s Player of the Year; Bryant’s Maddy Wachter was the Pitcher of the Year; Albany outfielder Katie Parisi was the Rookie of the Year; and Bryant’s Bianka Bell was chosen the Coach of the Year.
Larkin, a native of Medfield, Massachusetts, took a team-leading .367 batting average heading into Wednesday’s America East tournament first round game against Binghamton.
That was sixth-best in the league and included all games, including non-conference contests.
Larkin started the season 0-for-13 but has hit .429 ever since.
She has had nine multiple-hit games.
She has the league’s fifth-best on-base percentage (.468), is tied for fifth in homers with five, is sixth in slugging percentage (.622) and in OPS (On-base Plus slugging) at 1.121, and she has committed only three errors in 202 chances.
In conference games only, she leads the league in runs scored with 18 and walks (13), is second in homers with five, third in OPS (1.279) and fourth in slugging percentage (.771). She is fifth in runs-batted in with 13, sixth in on-base percentage (.508), tied for sixth in doubles (4), seventh in hits (18) and ninth in batting average (.375).
She started all 17 conference games and was a two-time Rookie of the Week selection.
Rieth graduated last spring with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and physical education and is pursuing a master’s degree in athletic training. She has a 4.0 grade-point average at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
In the circle, she has thrown the second-most innings in the conference (107 ⅔) and the Havasu City Arizona native is third in strikeouts with 84 and tied for fifth in wins with six.
Argyle, Texas, native Inman has a 3.64 GPA in kinesiology and physical education, and, on the field, is tied for the conference lead in triples with three and is third in conference play with 17 RBIs.
