When it comes to fashion, Melissa Rivers always keeps it real.
It was no different on Monday, May 4, when the fashion expert and executive producer of the beloved Fashion Police watched Hollywood’s biggest stars attend the 2026 Met Gala in New York City.
While more than a few stars pulled off daring fashion statements while putting their own spin on this year’s “Costume Art” theme, Rivers, 58, couldn’t help but highlight a few famous faces who won the night.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner
Although Kim Kardashian deserves credit for her copper liquid medal dress, Rivers believes Kendall, 30, and Kylie, 28, deserve to make the best-dressed list for their ensembles.
Kendall wowed in GAP by Zac Posen while Kylie opted for an intricate Custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture nude ensemble.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
Out of all the A-list couples who arrived at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art steps in New York City, Rivers had to give credit to Union, 53, and Wade, 44.
“They understood the assignment,” Rivers shared. “Gabrielle in that beaded dress looks like it was just liquid on her.”
Both Union and Wade wore Michael Kors and accessorized their looks with bling from Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Lisa
The global superstar teamed up with Robert Wun for a diaphanous custom gown that quickly grabbed the attention of Rivers.
“She has these arms Robert Wun attached to her and holding this veil up, but those were actually molds of her arms,” Rivers explained. “We’re getting into the whole art. Fashion is art using the body theme.”
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Blue Ivy Carter
While Nicole Kidman and her daughter, Sunday Rose, looked fantastic at the Met, Beyoncé and her oldest child made a splash with their red carpet entrance.
“Beyonce with the whole beaded skeletal thing and her Blue Ivy in all white with her. The whole family there was jaw-dropping,” Rivers explained. “It was worth the 10-year wait.”
Rivers continued, “Blue Ivy is so beautiful and she’s 14. I cannot imagine the terror that Jay-Z wakes up with at night, worrying about what to do when the boys all come calling. I mean, that is, like, a dad-girl nightmare.”
Sabrina Carpenter
Weeks after headlining the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, Carpenter, 26, wowed Rivers with her custom Dior slit tulle dress by Jonathan Anderson. The look seemingly paid homage to Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 film Sabrina.
“You got the memo,” Rivers shared. “I thought it was really interesting how they used the film. I thought it worked and I thought it was interesting, and no one else did anything like that.”

Anne Hathaway
Rivers couldn’t get enough of The Devil Wears Prada 2 star’s strapless Michael Kors gown.
“It’s a hand-painted canvas, and it’s all, like, owed to a Grecian urn,” Rivers explained. “I think Michael Kors is the only person who could make a canvas drape like that.”
The gown appeared to channel Greek mythology vibes ahead of Hathaway’s role in director Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, set to be released in July.
