Eight groups of school districts, career and technical education centers, colleges and businesses submitted the first part of a funding application for the Maine Department of Education pilot Integrated, Consolidated 9-16 Educational Facilities Program.
Part II of the application is due this October. Only one of the eight projects will be funded.
The newly built school would combine at least two high schools with a regional career and technology center, include a higher education center for high school students to take college classes and space to support industry training programs in partnership with local businesses.

*Central Aroostook High School is included in this application, but backed out of the proposal shortly after its submission.
