A Waterville man who pleaded guilty to murdering his roommate in 2024 was sentenced on Thursday to 35 years in prison, the Morning Sentinel reported.
Thomas Lowrie, 42, is convicted of killing 43-year-old Charles Bellows in August of that year at a home on Cool Street in Waterville. An autopsy determined that Bellows died of “sharp force injury,” and his body was allegedly dismembered.
Lowrie in February entered an Alford guilty plea, in which a defendant maintains their innocence but concedes that enough evidence exists to convict them. The deal capped his sentence at a maximum of 35 years, the Sentinel reported.
