Portland police have issued a warning after seven suspected overdoses in less than 20 hours as of Sunday afternoon.
Police said the drugs coming into Portland appear to be more potent than ever.
Signs of an overdose include:
— Slow or no breathing
— Unconsciousness or inability to wake
— Blue or gray lips or fingertips
— Gurgling or choking sounds
Police are urging people to carry naloxone, which is also known by the brand name Narcan, and know how to use it.
Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose and is available at many pharmacies and community organizations.
If someone shows signs of an overdose, call 911 immediately.
