A former Ellsworth mill that was converted into a mall has been sold for $7,402,150.
The city’s Mill Mall, located at 248 State St. between the Dunkin’ Donuts and YMCA, was sold to 248 State LLC. The sale was recorded in the Hancock County Registry of Deeds on April 10, according to county records.
The property, a 75,000-square-foot complex sitting on a 9.26-acre lot, has been on the market since October 2024.
Willey Grant Company had owned the mall since 2000. The mall — a former textile mill — now holds about a dozen businesses, including local favorites like Sylvia’s Cafe, Sweet Cheeks and the Break Room.
The purchase was financed with a roughly $5.9 million mortgage through the Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union, according to county records.
248 State LLC was formed on March 2 with a Portland-based mailing address, according to state filings. The attorney listed on the mortgage documents did not immediately respond to inquiries from the Bangor Daily News.
The mall’s total assessed value is $5,360,630, according to city property records.
Robert Baldacci, a real estate agent who listed the property on behalf of F.O. Bailey Real Estate, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Bangor Daily News.
