A house fire that quickly spread to a nearby outbuilding damaged a residence at 160 Wing Road in Levant on Friday.
No injuries were reported, according to the Levant Fire Department.
Dispatchers received the call at approximately 11:53 a.m. and upgraded it to a second-alarm fire after a caller reported heavy smoke coming from the eaves.
The fire was further upgraded to a third alarm when flames spread from the back porch of the single-story home to a large outbuilding nearby.
Crews extinguished the fire in roughly 30 to 40 minutes. The home was unoccupied at the time.
Most of the house sustained smoke and water damage but remained standing, and two nearby structures were protected.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause, according to fire officials.
Thirteen departments and agencies assisted Levant and Hermon fire departments, including those from Bangor, Corinth, Glenburn and the Air National Guard.
