Adam Levine is extending his return to The Voice.

Following the conclusion of season 29, a.k.a. “Battle of the Champions,” on Tuesday, April 14, NBC announced that Levine, 49, would be back as a coach for season 30. The remaining coaches have yet to be revealed. The season will air in fall 2026.

“I will be back,” Levine told People in a statement. “I’m having so much fun doing it. Since I came back a few seasons ago, it’s just been a blast, and I’m super happy to keep it going as long as they’ll have me.”

The announcement comes fresh off Levine’s season 29 win with singer Alexia Jayy. Jayy, 31, competed against Team Kelly Clarkson’s Mikenley Brown and Liv Ciara and Team John Legend’s Lucas West in the Top 4 finale on Tuesday.

“There is no one more deserving of this honor,” Levine said of Jayy, an R&B singer from Alabama, during the finale.

This marked Levine’s fourth win after victories in seasons 1, 5 and 9.

Levine served as an original coach on The Voice from seasons 1 through 16 before departing the singing competition in May 2019.

“I was ready to not be doing it anymore … for a little bit,” Levine, who shares kids Dusty Rose, 9, Gio Grace, 8, and a son, 3, with wife Behati Prinsloo, said on The Howard Stern Show in 2019.

The Maroon 5 frontman continued, “When it all naturally happened, I was like, ‘OK, this feels right.’ For better or worse, the moment in which we decided to walk away felt really good. This was the right time for me to go. For eight and a half years, I was so busy — [I] had the band, [I] had The Voice. I was beyond fortunate to go through all of it because it was a life-altering experience being on that show … and then it got to the point where I got married, I had two kids, and I wanted to spend time with them.”

Levine later returned to The Voice for season 27 in 2025 alongside Legend, 47, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé.

“The only way to sum it up is that just energetically … the opportunity came at the right moment and I was really ready, and we started talking about it and one thing led to another and here I am. It was that simple,” he told NBC Insider at the time. “It didn’t involve too much deliberation or overthinking. I kind of just felt ready. I was really happy to come back and experience it again with these three wonderful people.”
