A popular supermarket chain is set to open its first location in Maine later this month.
A ribbon cutting will be held on March 26.
The store has taken over the former Big Lots store in Portland’s Pine Tree Shopping Center on Brighton Avenue.
The Aldi store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Aldi operates almost 2,500 stores in the U.S., and Maine will be the 40th state the chain operates in.
The company announced plans in 2024 to add 800 new stores as part of a $9 billion expansion plan.
