16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis has been arrested for involuntary manslaughter.
Us Weekly can confirm that Purvis, 33, was booked on Monday, July 7, and faces charges including possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. TMZ reports that the involuntary manslaughter charge is related to allegedly distributing a drug called tranq, which is a mix of fentanyl and xylazine.
Purvis’ arrest comes one month after she shared that her teenage son, Weston Jr., whom she shared with Weston Gosa Sr., died at the age of 16. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.
“This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away,” she wrote via Facebook in June. “He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just dont understand. Oh my baby is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. How do you go on in life after losing a child? I’m in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don’t want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can’t describe the pain I am feeling.”

Later that month, Purvis claimed her ex blocked her from attending their son’s funeral. (Purvis and Weston Sr. were together on and off before splitting for good in 2014.)
“I’m gonna stand up for myself this time,” she wrote via Facebook in June. “Just to clear up some things [that] happened over the weekend, my son’s funeral was this past Saturday. My son’s father told me it was at 4. … You would think with little Weston dying that we could put our differences aside right? Nope. It always has to be drama. You had to be on a list to get into the funeral. Guess who wasn’t on the list? Me and all my friends and family were not allowed to come in.”
Purvis claimed that the funeral home told her she was “not on the list,” which several witnesses heard.
“It wouldn’t matter what time I got there. I wasn’t getting in,” she claimed. “If that wasn’t sick enough, they tried to spin it around and say I was two hours late to his funeral and I knew it was at 2. Like come the hell on, I would never!!”

Weston Sr. previously told TMZ that everyone was informed of the viewing being held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the service right after. He alleged that he called Purvis before to invite her to the funeral, but she didn’t arrive until 4:15 p.m. Us reached out to Weston Sr. after Purvis’ Facebook post.
Fans first met Purvis during season 1 of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2009. She and Weston Sr. also welcomed son River in 2014. Purvis later lost custody of both of her sons, with TMZ reporting last year that she was arrested for allegedly failing to make child support payments.
