Police on Wednesday charged a Portland man with multiple drug offenses after allegedly finding fentanyl and crack on him and at his home.
At about 5 p.m., members of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Portland Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit stopped a car driven by Abdirahmon A. Adbullahi, 26, whom agents had been investigating for suspected drug trafficking in Greater Portland, the MDEA said in a news release.
They arrested Adbullahi without incident after allegedly finding 72 grams of fentanyl and 63 grams of cocaine base (crack) on him. The drugs were packaged for resale, according to the agency.
Adbullahi was brought to Cumberland County Jail and charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs and trafficking in Schedule W drugs (fentanyl and cocaine). His bail was set at $50,000 cash, the MDEA said.
Before arresting Adbullahi, agents got a search warrant for his home on Elmwood Street in Portland, where they allegedly found nearly a pound of fentanyl, more than a quarter pound of cocaine and cocaine base, three guns, $3,000 in suspected drug proceeds and other items related to drug processing and distribution, the agency said.
