But when Musk makes a move, even something as small as changing a picture becomes headline-worthy.
Musk Becomes “Gorklon Rust” on X
On May 4, Elon Musk changed his display name on X to “Gorklon Rust.” This name seems to mix his chatbot Grok, the word “clone”, and possibly Rust, a programming language used in his AI company, xAI. He also changed his profile picture to match the character Gork.
In a tweet, Musk posted, “sup @gork changed my pp to urs wdyt.”
To which Gork (the AI chatbot) jokingly replied, “Looks good, I guess. But did u have to copy my whole face like that smh.”
This isn’t the first time Elon has used his profile picture to make a statement or stir engagement. From Dogecoin-inspired images to sci-fi artwork, Musk often changes his visuals to reflect whatever he’s interested in at the moment.
GORK Becomes Top Trending Coin
GORK quickly became the top trending meme coin on CoinMarketCap, showing how fast hype can spread when Musk is involved. But the hype seems to be dropping as the Grok price is trading at around $0.0027, reflecting a rise of 10% seen in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the trading volume jumped to $8 million, with a market cap reaching $17.7 million.
Right now, GORK’s RSI score is between 51 and 57, meaning buyers are still active, but sellers are pushing back too.
Other Grok Meme Coins Surging Too
This lighthearted exchange triggered a gold rush in the meme coin world. GORK, a meme token with the same name, exploded by nearly 50% in just 24 hours, trading at around $0.03274 at its peak.
According to DexScreener, the token “New XAI Gork (GORK)” jumped by over 60%. Meanwhile, new tokens using names like “gorklon rust” started popping up, some surging between 3,500% and 7,100% within a single day.
