When people voted for Donald Trump, I’m sure they believed that at least he would be good for the economy. But I think the Republican Party does not care about your economy. They care about theirs. And there’s a big difference!
We do not benefit from corporate tax cuts, or slashing Social Security, Medicare, and veteran’s health. They do.
The Trump administration hasn’t even taken office yet, but they came close to shutting down the government for the holidays.
Elon Musk said it’s better to have a government shutdown than pass a bad bill. He also said it’s better for our nation to suffer a couple of years of severe austerity to emerge stronger on the other side. But that’s a royal we. They do not suffer during economic downturns. We do.
And why does Musk seem to be casually volunteering the working class for economic suffering? We didn’t elect this guy. No one elected him. Yet some Republicans were lining up and clamoring for this random civilian to be speaker of the house. What is his extraordinary qualification? I think it’s his $400 billion net worth. It seems that the Republican Party would like to announce that whoever is richest, shall lead.
I think the Republican platform has one unified goal right now: sacrifice the working class for the good of the billionaire class. Our pain, their gain. Now if they can just keep us distracted enough with culture war drama that we won’t notice.
