Apple boss Tim Cook rolled out the red carpet for the King at the tech company’s London headquarters today – while the Queen welcomed special guests to Clarence House for an afternoon of festive fun.

The King was given a tour of Apple’s UK HQ at the decommissioned Battersea Power Station in southwest London, where he was also shown some of the latest artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

As well as meeting with the Apple CEO, Charles spoke to young people who have been part of programmes run by The King’s Trust, including Naomi Spence, a 20-year-old University of Brighton student.

She showed the King how she uses Apple Intelligence to turn basic sketches into detailed drawings.

Charles joked: “Oh God. It’s not fair really. Fantastic. You’re very expert with it.”

The King also unveiled a plaque outside the former power station with Mr Cook, while Brit Award winner Raye brought the festive spirit by singing Christmas songs.

Meanwhile, at the London residence she shares with Charles, Camilla hosted a lunch for poorly children and their families – and Father Christmas even stopped by to hand out gifts.

The Queen is a patron of two charities that work with youngsters suffering from life-shortening conditions; Helen and Douglas House and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.

Each year, she invites children they help to Clarence House for a fun-filled afternoon complete with a visit from Santa – but there was one thing missing this year.

“We have got Father Christmas this year but no reindeer – they’ve been put in quarantine,” Camilla quipped.

As the children sat down for bangers and mash, the Queen offered a helping hand and served the food.

She later assisted Santa in handing out presents, and he told her: “I’ve got news for you, you’re on the good list again.”

Camilla replied: “I’m delighted.”
