Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia shared her side of the story when it came to her friendship breakup with Grace O’Malley — and the end of their “Plan Bri Uncut” podcast.
“I ended the podcast in October because it was a forum to just bully me. On top of everything I was going through, I couldn’t have — I couldn’t take it anymore,” LaPaglia, 25, said during the Wednesday, December 11, episode of her “BFFs” podcast. “I ended our friendship. I was like I have to take a step away from this because it was constant [hate].”
The internet pitting LaPaglia and O’Malley, 26, against each other apparently led to their downfall.
“It was months of me being like, ‘Grace, can you please just defend me.’ We didn’t talk anymore,” LaPaglia said. “I needed her so bad, and I know she needed me too during that year. She felt like I left her.”
Fans have been speculating for months that LaPaglia and O’Malley’s friendship came to an end. Then, O’Malley confirmed the end of their longtime relationship in an Instagram Story post this past weekend — stating that their podcast had officially come to an end.

On “BFFs” LaPaglia explained that her past relationship with Zach Bryan was, in part, the reason for their friendship fallout. (LaPaglia has been open about her allegedly abusive relationship with Bryan, which came to an end in October.)
“These are two separate conversations because, like, Zach ruining Grace and I’s friendship is something separate,” LaPaglia shared. “She knew what I was going through. I really needed her, so I couldn’t do the podcast anymore because we’re sitting there pretending to be friends. I didn’t feel seen by her. I needed to set a boundary.”

Ending the Podcast
The final episode of the “Plan Bri Uncut” podcast was released on October 10, 2024. LaPaglia claimed that, five days later, she decided to pull the plug.
“We ended the show and me and Grace have been constantly going back and forth since October 15 of trying to figure out an announcement of how we want to do it and how we want to go about it,” LaPaglia claimed. “I’m the one that wants to end the show, so however everyone wants to go about it, up to you guys. She never reached out to the team. She never reached out to anyone.”
O’Malley’s Instagram Story
On December 6, O’Malley shared a three-slide Instagram Story post in which she addressed the status of her and LaPaglia’s friendship.
“This last year, I bit my tongue so much that I shouldn’t even have one anymore. I was willing to wait out of respect, but things don’t always work out the way you think they will. In fact they rarely do. I most definitely did not foresee any of this EVER ending,” she wrote, in part. “I don’t think I’ll ever fully get into every aspect of how this came to be, but it should be said that, although this was not a mutual decision, I’m realizing that, in the grand scheme of things, it might actually end up being the right one.”
LaPaglia claimed that O’Malley “knew” what she was doing by posting that statement.

“There was no need for that. She has never wanted to be a podcaster, she’s always wanted to be a comedian. She’s crushing it,” LaPaglia said. “For a year everyone was like, ‘Grace needs to leave Bri. Grace needs to do this.’ So finally, I made the call. … I want her to succeed in everything that she does.”
Elsewhere on the episode, LaPaglia said she reached out to O’Malley after the social media post was shared.
“I immediately texted her and said, ‘You literally just did what Zach did to me.’ That’s how we all felt,” she recalled, referring to the Instagram post Bryan shared announcing their breakup.

Following her split from Bryan, the podcast host spoke candidly about what went down in their year-long romance.
“When I came forward with all the Zach s—, she didn’t reach out to me,” LaPaglia claimed. “She texted me after that episode and said, ‘I’m sure that was a weight off your shoulders.’ That’s it.”
LaPaglia also confirmed that O’Malley and Bryan “hated” each other.
“She wasn’t cut out of my life. I was still friends with her. She just hated me because I was dating Zach,” LaPaglia claimed. “I apologized and admitted it publicly that I was in this horrible relationship and it f—ed all my friendships up, and I lost myself and I treated people that I loved like they didn’t matter.”
