BELFAST — On Wednesday, Oct. 16 the Boardgame Cafe will celebrate its 2-year anniversary with a Codenames Tournament and free Sundae bar for all participants. The Boardgame Cafe in Belfast has been a gathering place for board game fans of all ages.
Kai Kutsy-Durbin, a homeschooled teen, was inspired to begin this project in October of 2022 with a desire to share his love of games with the community. Every Wednesday evening, adults, children, and teens get together to play any of the over 100 board games in the “game library”. Many of the regulars also bring games from home to teach to each other. Whether it be classic games such as Clue, Backgammon, and Scrabble or newer games such as Evolution, Azul, or Codenames, there is something for everyone at the Boardgame Cafe. Located at the United Farmers Market in Belfast (Miller Street entrance), the Boardgame Cafe’ is open from 6 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday. There is $5 entrance fee per person. Participants enjoy a variety of baked goods by donation and tea is always complimentary.
Sign-ups for the CodeNames tournament will begin at 6 p.m. with the tournament beginning at 6:30 p.m. For more go to the Facebook page: Boardgame Cafe- Belfast, Maine.
