Ice and snow will continue to melt in Maine today with quiet weather and above freezing temps for Monday afternoon. Mild weather continues through the rest of the week with plenty of rain expected as well.
After an ice storm that damaged branches and powerlines, quiet weather returns to Maine on Monday. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with highs near 40 for the afternoon. Watch for ice falling from trees and buildings through the day.
Tuesday will bring the next chance for precipitation. After a quiet first half of the day, showers will arrive for the afternoon. They may start as light freezing rain or freezing drizzle for inland and mountain areas, travel could be slick heading into the evening. For those above freezing, rain showers will continue through the afternoon and evening hours, highs will again be near 40.
Wednesday will bring more wet weather. We’ll see showers off and on through the day with highs in the upper 40s or even near 50.
We look to potentially dry out a bit for the first half of Thursday, however some rain chances may return by the afternoon. Highs will be mild again, in the low 50s.
Friday’s forecast remains a bit up in the air. While we may stay dry, there are some indications we could see some lingering rain or even some inland and mountain snow as some cooler air moves into the region. Highs will be in the upper 40s.
The weekend looks much drier and nice and sunny. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s with plenty of sun Saturday and Sunday.
