Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion have, on Friday, confirmed the club’s first high-profile signing of the summer.
The player to have taken his talents to England’s south coast? Julio Enciso.
Many of a Seagulls persuasion have no doubt long been familiar with the name of gifted attacking midfielder Enciso. This comes after the 18-year-old saw a January move to the Amex Stadium collapse at the last minute owing to a failure to agree personal terms.
This time round, though, Brighton have finally landed their man.
As confirmed in a series of posts across their official website and social media platforms, Enciso has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the club, ahead of linking up with Graham Potter’s first-team squad for pre-season.
Speaking on the back of the latest addition to his squad being confirmed, Brighton’s boss explained:
“Julio is an exciting young talent, and he has had a great start to his career in Paraguay, as well as being a regular in the Paraguay national squad.
“He’s a young guy who is moving away from his home country for the first time, so we will help him to adapt to new surroundings and settle here in Brighton and Hove.
“We’re really looking forward to helping him develop and working with him, and he will complement our existing attacking options this coming season.”

The deal, it is understood, has set the Seagulls back a fee in the region of £10 million, including bonuses.
Enciso, for his part, is widely regarded as one of the finest talents to have emerged from his home country of Paraguay for some time.
Such regard is reflected in the fact that the midfielder, despite his tender years, has already established himself as a fully fledged senior international, en route to six caps.
On the club front, meanwhile, Enciso’s stellar exploits in the final third culminated in 14 direct goal contributions across 14 league appearances to this point in the Primera Division Apertura campaign.
