Brentford have made an approach for Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey, according to reports.
Hickey is currently plying his trade in the Serie A with Bologna, joining the Italian outfit from Hearts back in 2020.
The Glasgow native began his career at Celtic, before then joining Hearts’ youth system for a second time in 2018.
Hickey, despite being 19, has become a regular feature for Bologna, featuring 45 times across all competitions, including 36 times in the league this past season.
The teenager is a natural left-back, but he can also operate on the right and is comfortable in a wing-back role.
And after excelling throughout 2021/22, Hickey found himself linked with Arsenal at the beginning of May.
One report even claimed Arsenal had agreed terms with the young defender.
Now though, a report on Friday suggests that Arsenal are not actually close to landing Hickey.
As per Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, Brentford have made an approach for Hickey.
It is added that other Premier League clubs are interested in Scotland international, who is valued at around €25m, but there has been no other club-to-club contact yet:

This obviously suggests that Arsenal are yet to make contact over a deal for the left-back, which, in truth, does make some sense given the Gunners already have Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares on their books.
