Nearly two months after their head-turning dinner date, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are still quietly seeing each other, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly.

“They’ve decided to be much more private about it,” one source says. “They are still speaking and are very interested in each other.”

A second insider notes that Perry and Trudeau’s relationship “isn’t serious” because she is “extremely busy right now” on her Lifetimes Tour.

“Justin has made plans to see her when she has downtime in a few weeks when she gets back from her tour in Brazil,” the insider tells Us, referring to Perry’s short break before her European leg begins on October 4. “Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating.”

Katy Perry’s Dating History: Relive Her A-List Romances

Us Weekly has reached out to reps for Perry and Trudeau for comment.

Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, made headlines when they were spotted walking her dog, Nugget, through Mount Royal Park in Montreal on July 28. Later that night, the pop star and the former Canadian prime minister had dinner at Le Violon, where they enjoyed cocktails and dishes including beef tartare, lobster, gnocchi and lamb.

A rep for the swanky restaurant told the Associated Press at the time that Perry and Trudeau had spent approximately two hours together, but there were “no visual signs of PDA or anything.” Co-owner and co-executive chef Danny Smiles, meanwhile, shared with The New York Times that the pair “were in great spirits.”

After their meal, Perry and Trudeau capped off their evening with drinks on the terrace of Taverne Atlantic. He then checked out her concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre two days later.

The “Teenage Dream” singer moved on with the politician shortly after her split from her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy.

Us reported on June 25 that Perry and the Lord of the Rings star, 48, had amicably called off their six-year engagement earlier this year.

One week later, their reps confirmed the news in a joint statement: “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

Bloom addressed the breakup for the first time during a recent interview on the Today show.

“I’m great, man. I’m so grateful. We have the most beautiful daughter,” he told Craig Melvin on Friday, September 5, adding, “We’re great. We’re going to be great. It’s nothing but love.”

Prior to their romance, Perry and Bloom were married to Russell Brand and Miranda Kerr, respectively. The actor and the model share 14-year-old son Flynn.

Trudeau, for his part, announced his separation from his ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage and three children: 17-year-old son Xavier, 16-year-old daughter Ella-Grace and 11-year-old son Hadrien.
