It has to be said that the sci-fi movies on HBO Max are practically an endangered species.
The irony is that this month’s biggest new addition in the category, Prometheus, has broken into HBO Max’s top 10 list, possibly on the strength of Alien: Earth.
So there’s clearly an audience for sci-fi on HBO Max that isn’t being properly served. Since there were no other notable sci-fi movies on HBO Max in September, we had to add Spaceballs to the list, even though it had been available on the streamer for months.
