Kylie Kelce still wants to keep some parts of her life private — including her relationship with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
During the Thursday, September 11, episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kylie, 33, revealed she’s gotten “a bunch of comments” from fans wondering why she didn’t publicly congratulate Travis and the pop star, both 35, on their engagement after it was announced in late August.
“So, if you record before the announcement was posted … ” Kylie began.
She then went on to explain that she’s “made a very conscious effort to not discuss” her brother-in-law and his personal life on her show because it’s easy for her words to be taken out of context.

“Here’s where I think there’s a disconnect,” she said. “People do not realize that you at home, you have your family, and in your family, you might have a brother-in-law and they might be dating someone. You might have a soon-to-be sister-in-law. But you have a relationship personally with them that no one else is involved in, because it’s your relationship.”
Kylie continued, “I don’t need to come out here and make statements when I already talk to them. You see what I’m saying? … I don’t need you to take my comments and try and dissect it.”
While she argued “it goes without being said,” Kylie emphasized that she’s “so incredibly happy” for the newly engaged couple.
“We are so excited that they are taking this next step,” she said. “[My daughters] are so excited to get another aunt. I am so truly happy for them and I feel so grateful that we get to welcome Taylor into our family in a more official capacity. But it’s our private relationship. … I don’t need to talk about them all the time.”
Kylie shares four daughters with Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, whom she married in 2018. Travis and Swift announced their engagement on August 26, and while Kylie didn’t give them a shout-out on “Not Gonna Lie,” she recently spoke about the milestone on Good Morning America.
“The girls are thrilled. They’re so excited they’re getting another aunt,” she said on Friday, September 5, referring to Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 5 months. “We love love, and we love Taylor and Trav.”
Eagle-eyed fans did notice, of course, that Kylie previously dropped a “like” on the couple’s Instagram post announcing their engagement.

Since Travis’ relationship with Swift began in 2023, Kylie has shared rare insight into how she developed a bond with the Grammy winner. Kylie confirmed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in February that she hadn’t crossed paths with Swift before they were spotted together at a Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game one year prior.
“People are deeply disturbed by this. There was, like, all this stuff leading up to it [the meeting] about, ‘Well, why haven’t they met? They’re avoiding each other.’ I’m not avoiding anyone,” Kylie explained. “It was funny to me because I kept saying to people, ‘I didn’t meet Travis for probably close to a year when Jase and I were dating.’”
Swift, for her part, revealed on Travis and Jason’s “New Heights” podcast last month that she enjoys baking with Wyatt, Ellie and Bennie. “They love sprinkles [and] we put sprinkles in everything when we hang out,” Swift gushed. “I’ve been workshopping [a funfetti sourdough recipe] for the girls because they love everything rainbow.”
