First National Bank has been named among the Best Places to Work in Maine. This honor program, now in its 20th year, is organized by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, Best Companies Group and BridgeTower Media.

“I am incredibly proud of our entire team at First National Bank for earning this recognition,” shared Tony C. McKim, president and CEO. “Our people are the foundation of everything we do; when they thrive, our customers and communities thrive. This honor reflects our shared commitment to fostering a workplace where individuals feel valued, supported, and motivated to grow.”

This recognition celebrates organizations in three categories: small (15-49 employees), medium (50-249 employees) and large employers (250-plus employees). To be considered, companies must have a presence in Maine; employ at least 15 full- or part-time employees and have been in business for at least one year.

Companies are evaluated through a two-part process: 1. Workplace practices, policies and demographics which accounts for 25% of the evaluation. 2. Employee surveys measure employee satisfaction and make up 75% of the score. The combined scores determine which companies rank as the Best Places to Work in Maine.

This year’s winners will be officially recognized during an awards event on Oct. 7 at the Augusta Civic Center at 76 Community Drive. The full list of honorees and final rankings will be announced at the awards celebration.

“This award is more than a milestone; its motivation to keep improving, innovating, and growing together,” shared McKim.

First National Bank, a subsidiary of The First Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNLC) is an independent community bank with 18 offices in Lincoln, Knox, Waldo, Hancock, Washington and Penobscot counties. For more information about First National Bank, please call 1-800-564-3195 or visit www.thefirst.com.
