Uprise adds two new virtual chief information officers to its team to support client growth

PORTLAND — Uprise Partners, a leading cybersecurity and IT managed services provider, has expanded its strategic services portfolio to provide clients with executive-level IT guidance and enhanced customer service. To support this initiative, Uprise Partners has added two new members to its strategic services team. The virtual chief information officers, or vCIOs, are strategic advisors who guide clients through technology roadmap development, proactive IT planning, and decision-making around infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity and cloud strategy.

The Uprise vCIOs work one-on-one with clients to help them navigate the ever-changing technology landscape. In addition to technology decisions, vCIOs also bridge the gap between IT and business strategy, with a focus on ROI and operational efficiency.

“At Uprise, we are focused on supporting small and medium sized businesses who rely on not just our knowledge to address immediate technology needs, but tailored guidance on how to leverage technology to support their unique business goals in the short and long term.” explained Malinda Gagnon, CEO of Uprise Partners. For modern organizations, technology isn’t part of the business, it is the business. We’re excited to offer this advanced level of dedicated support under the leadership of two new experienced industry pros.”

To support Uprise’s enhanced strategic services, the company has hired two new vCIOs to work with current clients.

Duncan Bruce brings nearly 30 years of IT consulting experience helping businesses align their technology strategies with their business goals. Bruce is passionate about identifying clients’ challenges and creating actionable solutions, with expertise in infrastructure operations, business continuity planning, digital transformation and client advocacy. His previous experience includes working in professional and financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and eight years as an IT engineering leader at NBC/Universal.

Marc Cash brings more than 30 years of comprehensive experience across all facets of IT and customer advocacy — as a customer, vendor and former business owner. Most recently, Cash spent more than 14 years at Dell, where he played a pivotal leadership role in the customer success organization helping clients of all sizes leverage technology to strengthen their infrastructure and evolve their IT operations. Before joining Dell, Cash spent 13 years at Lowe’s Companies, where he managed cross-functional global teams and led critical IT engineering initiatives including enterprise virtualization, disaster recovery and infrastructure protection.

“Both Duncan and Marc have the technical expertise critical to IT strategy and support, but most important, they both have experience building strong partnerships, leading strategic initiatives with focus and transparency, and delivering consistent business results,” Gagnon said of the new hires. “Their expertise gives our clients executive-level technology guidance to drive their business.”

As a trusted provider of IT and cybersecurity solutions, Uprise Partners has won numerous industry awards, including being named to CRN’s prestigious Fast Growth 150, Tech Elite 250, Security 100 and Managed Solution Provider 500 lists, as well as being honored as a Next-Gen Solution Provider Leader — an achievement given to rising-star solution provider executives. Most recently, Uprise Partners received the Propel Ignition 2025 Business of the Year Award for its dedication to hiring young professionals and providing them with the technical training, business strategy and career mentorship they need to succeed.

Recognized as a top 100 Cybersecurity Provider and Tech Elite 250 Managed Services Provider in North America for five consecutive years, Uprise Partners was also named Business of the Year by the Portland (Maine) Chamber of Commerce’s PROPEL group. The company continues to grow rapidly, with a strong global customer base, and is committed to excellence and a tailored approach to IT and cybersecurity that meets the unique needs of each client. Founded in 2017 by technology executives from Fortune 500 companies, Uprise Partners delivers innovative solutions across the globe. For more information, visit uprisepartners.com.
