CBS is expanding the Fire Country universe with its Sheriff Country spinoff — but who makes up the cast?
The town of Edgewater was originally introduced when Fire Country premiered in 2022 with inmate Bode (Max Thieriot) returning home and volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program during season 1 of the hit show. By season 2, a backdoor pilot set up the world of Sheriff Country, which is centered around Sharon’s (Diane Farr) estranged sister Mickey (Morena Baccarin) as she solves crimes in town.
Baccarin has already appeared in two episodes of Fire Country, in which it was revealed that Sharon was at odds with Mickey after her stepsister busted Bode when he was a reckless teenager. After Bode got into more trouble as an adult, Sharon blamed Mickey for not supporting her nephew.
Mickey subsequently dropped a bombshell on Sharon when she revealed her daughter has struggles with addiction. The episode brought Mickey and Sharon closer together as they worked to track down the person who killed Edgewater’s sheriff. Their reconciliation paved the way for more crossovers between Fire Country and Sheriff Country.
‘Fire Country’ Stars Who Would — or Should — Appear on Sheriff Spinoff
According to the official synopsis, Sheriff Country will focus on Baccarin’s Mickey as a “straight-shooting sheriff in a small rural town who must balance the demands of law enforcement with the complexities of motherhood, community politics, and a past that won’t stay buried.”

Morena Baccarin
After being introduced on Fire Country, Baccarin stars as Sheriff Mickey Fox, who is very protective of her town following 15 years on the force. Mickey “investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.”
Christopher Gorham
Mickey’s ex-husband, Travis, is a lawyer with whom she shares daughter Skye.
“Despite their many differences, Travis and Mickey might still harbor feelings for each other,” read the character description for Travis.
Michele Weaver
Weaver’s character Cassidy is a deputy who was inspired by Mickey to join law enforcement. While Cassidy looks up to Mickey, she has to figure out who she’ll be as a deputy.
Matt Lauria
Lauria is set to play Boone a.k.a Mickey’s “smart, tough, and capable deputy and longtime partner.” Boone is used to a different kind of policing and his and Mickey’s “contrasting law enforcement styles make their partnership both complex and occasionally tense.”
W. Earl Brown
Brown plays Mickey’s estranged father, Wes, who is an off-the-grid marijuana grower who “lives a semi-reclusive life in the mountains of Edgewater, allowing only a select few to know the location of his marijuana grow operation.” His illegal business creates tension with Mickey but Wes is described as “kind and generous toward his family, particularly his granddaughter Skye. However, his good intentions are sometimes undermined by his unreliable nature.”
Amanda Arcuri
Mickey’s daughter, Skye, was previously mentioned in multiple episodes of Fire Country. Arcuri’s character is “smart but troubled” and is four months sober when Sheriff Country begins. Skye is “drawn to a boyfriend who endangers her recovery. Sensitive yet self-sabotaging, she’s fighting to rebuild her life,” read the official character description.

Caroline Rhea
Rhea has been cast as Mickey’s assistant, Gina, who is “a lifelong local with a colorful past.” Gina is also one of the few who can speak truth to Mickey.
Vanessa Smythe
Ahead of season 1, Smythe has been cast in the role of Carol.
David Klein
Klein rounds out the Edgewater County Sheriff’s Office as Deputy Mason Mitchell.
Max Thieriot
After originating the role of Bode on Fire Country, Thieriot is reprising the role in Sheriff Country. He is Mickey’s nephew and Skye’s cousin.
Diane Farr
Us Weekly debuted the official trailer for Sheriff Country, which confirmed Mickey’s sister Sharon is crossing over from Fire Country for at least one episode.
