Football season is back, and Kelly Stafford is more than impressed with the Los Angeles Rams quarterback roster.
“QB 1 is Matthew Stafford. QB 2 is Jimmy Garoppolo — for those women listening, yes, he is the hot one,” Kelly, 36, shared on the Tuesday, September 2, episode of “The Morning After” podcast. “And QB 3 is Stetson Bennett. For the Georgia people listening, that’s the UGA quarterback. Those are our three.”
When the Los Angeles Rams kick off their season on Sunday, September 7, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, Matthew, 37, will be the starting quarterback.
According to Kelly, her husband has a great rapport with his teammates who can play the same position as him.

“A good quarterback room who has been together and has chemistry and they have fun, which is great,” she explained. “That’s what you want. You want your quarterback to relax and enjoy himself and when you have a QB room, you can do that.”
Before winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams, Matthew played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and was selected first overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL draft.
Throughout Matthew’s football career, Kelly said her husband has had “really good quarterback rooms.”
“I don’t know if that’s a him thing and he’s an easy guy to get along with,” she said, “or if he’s just really lucky.”
As part of her podcast, Kelly is hoping to give listeners a family perspective on the world of football. Matthew and Kelly share twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5.
In the weeks leading up to the NFL season, Matthew found himself hard at work at the Rams’ training camp.
While Kelly said it’s been easier now that her daughters are getting older, she empathizes with other families with young kids who have to say goodbye to Dad for long periods of time.
“For the families with younger children, dad’s around all off season and then all of a sudden, he’s gone for five weeks,” she said. “Sometimes you don’t see him for five weeks. We’re lucky enough where we can see Matthew every now and then but sometimes that doesn’t happen.”
Kelly also recently opened up about one of her daughters struggling with behavioral issues.

During the August 28 episode of her and Hank Winchester’s podcast, Kelly said she has been “struggling” with one of her kids.
“She has become a little girl that I don’t recognize. Right now, I’m trying to be mild with it,” Kelly explained, adding that her behavioral issues have extended beyond their home and “trickled into” her daughters’ sports, as she’s been “disrespecting coaches and not listening, giving attitude, walking away while they’re talking to her.”
After sharing her journey, Kelly received support from Hank who explained, “It’s all going to be OK. We’re all in this together.”
