When Travis Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, he had the best support system in now-wife Leanna Lenee.
“Winner winner chicken dinner,” Lenee wrote via Instagram in December 2024, sharing pics from Hunter’s ceremony.
She added in a follow-up post, “They mad, make them madder!!!”
The Heisman is awarded annually to the top player in college football. In 2024, Hunter was nominated alongside Ashton Jeanty, Cam Ward and Dillion Gabriel. Hunter had been honored as wide receiver and cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes.

He even gave Lenee a sweet shout-out in his acceptance speech.
“I also want to thank my fiancée and my mother. They’ve been with me since the first time I had surgery my first year of college,” he gushed at the time. “They never took a step away from all the hard hours, all the hard days, and all the times I didn’t want to wake up and even watch my phone [or] look at football. Y’all stayed with me. I’m very thankful for y’all.”

Hunter slid into Lenee’s social media DMs months before she even opened the message.
“Travis sat in my DMs for two months because he DM’d me when he had a girlfriend,” she said in a TikTok video two years later. “I instantly knew he had a partner [from his Instagram bio]. So, I exited the message and he sat there until he was single. I don’t do homewrecking. I’m not a side piece. I don’t stand for any of those things. I support women. I would never do that to another woman because I would never want it done to me.”
After they finally connected, Hunter and Lenee went Instagram official in March, sharing PDA pics from their Hawaiian vacation.

Lenee paid tribute to Hunter with a lengthy tribute for their first anniversary.
“You came into my life at the most unexpected time. I would constantly pray that God would give me a reason to keep moving forward so I can fulfill his plan for me,” she gushed via Instagram. “That he would give me motivation to continue, and you were his answer. You bring nothing but solidarity and peace into my life. You’ve showed me how to properly be loved, and even how to properly love, because God knows I tainted the definition.”
She added, “You are the most patient and passionate man I have ever met. No relationship is perfect, but we perfected the art of trying. We are living in our 3rd state together now, and this is a life I wouldn’t want to share with anyone else. You are the greatest friend and partner I have ever had. After getting engaged, Lenee continued to be a staple at Hunter’s football games while wearing custom merch.

Hunter made sure to honor his love’s birthday, writing via Instagram, ”HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL I LOVE YOU.”

Lenee was by Hunter’s side when he won the Heisman Trophy, a prestigious honor in college football.
“Showtime,” she captioned a TikTok video of their outfits.
Hunter sported a crisp blue suit, while Lenee opted for a strapless, mirrored gown.
The ceremony sparked online criticism when social media users speculated that Lenee appeared agitated when Hunter won the trophy. The athlete later debunked the claims, noting in a Twitch livestream that Lenee cried herself to sleep over the backlash.
Lenee also denied being upset.
“People are saying that I’m like, ‘What am I supposed to do, just sit here?’” Lenee said in a TikTok video. “That’s not what I said, first of all. I said, ‘Baby, do you want me to sit here or do you want me to go with the family or do you want me to come with you?’ Because what y’all don’t know off of a seven-second clip is those weren’t fans, by the way.”
She added, “He had finished meeting with the fans. I was there the entire time taking pictures, talking to them, everything. The girls that were there, they work for Adidas. So we were taking pictures for a social post. That’s who those people were. I wasn’t annoyed with no fans. At all. I’m never annoyed with fans.”
Lenee further stressed that she supports Hunter in “everything he does.”
“I truly, truly love that man,” she gushed. “He is perfect in my eyes.”

Four months after taking home the Heisman, Lenee was by Hunter’s side for the 2025 NFL draft. The couple walked the red carpet together alongside Hunter’s mother. The next month, Hunter and Lenee tied the knot.

Three months after their wedding, Hunter and Lenee secretly welcomed a baby boy. The couple shared the exciting news in a YouTube video featuring several moments from throughout Lenee’s pregnancy, including their reaction to the positive pregnancy test, her ultrasound scans and a gender reveal. The video later cut an audio clip of their crying newborn.
“That baby looks just like me,” Hunter said as he saw his son for the first time. “You did good, baby.”
The video’s caption read, “Dear Son, We love you. Love, Mom and Dad.”
