New details have continued to emerge following the death of influencer Emilie Kiser and husband Brady Kiser’s 3-year-old son, Trigg.

Trigg was pulled unconscious from the family’s backyard pool in Arizona on May 12, 2025, while dad Brady and brother Teddy were at home. (Emilie and Brady, who tied the knot in 2020, welcomed Teddy in March.)

Police officers arrived at the scene and began performing CPR before firefighters took over life-saving measures. Trigg was subsequently flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us on May 18 that Trigg died.

Neither Emilie nor Brady have publicly addressed their eldest son’s death. Scroll down for a complete timeline of the fatal incident:

What to Know About Influencer Emilie Kiser’s Son’s Death Investigation

May 12

Brady was reportedly home at the time, feeding the couple’s two sons while watching an NBA playoff game between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. A redacted police report regarding the incident obtained by Us on August 8 indicated that Brady placed a bet on the game prior to Trigg’s death, noting his attention was “divided” on May 12.

Trigg, meanwhile, went outside and tripped into the pool after playing with an inflatable chair. The August 8 report indicated that Trigg was in the backyard unsupervised for more than nine minutes and was in the water for about seven of those minutes, despite Brady initially claiming the incident occurred over only a few minutes.

When Brady saw the dog watching the pool, he had a “poor feeling” and went outside. Brady found Trigg floating in the pool to which he proceeded to jump in and call 911.

May 18

Us confirmed that Trigg died on the afternoon of May 18. The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department said in a statement to Us that “the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remain ongoing.”

“This is still an open investigation,” the statement continued. “Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be releasing additional details until the investigation is closed.”

May 27

Emilie filed a lawsuit asking the court to block the release of records related to Trigg’s death.

“Emilie is going through a parent’s worst nightmare right now. She lost her young son, her three-year-old Trigg Chapman Kiser (‘Trigg’), on May 18, 2025, following a heartbreaking accidental drowning at the family’s home on May 12, 2025,” the lawsuit published by Arizona Republic read. “Emilie is trying her best to be there for her surviving son, two-month-old Theodore. But every day is a battle.”

June 2

Us confirmed that the investigation was officially closed.

Emilie Kiser Has Legal Win After Filing to Redact Report About Death of Son

June 3

In court documents obtained by Us, a judge ruled to give Emilie temporary confidentiality on her request for privacy “until a determination is made that balances the public’s need for information vs privacy interests.”

July 15

Investigators recommended that Brady be charged with a Class 4 felony charge of child abuse.

“The Chandler Police Department has completed its investigation into the tragic drowning of three-year-old Trigg Kiser. Following a thorough review of the evidence, investigators have recommended a Class 4 felony charge of child abuse against Brady Kiser,” a statement shared at the time read. “The case has now been submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review.”

July 25

Days after investigators shared their recommendation that Brady be charged with child abuse, the local Attorney’s Office ultimately decided against pursuing charges.

“Surveillance video from outside the home showed how the drowning occurred and the actual timeline of events,” a statement read. “In order to convict a person of this charge, the state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to a unanimous jury that the person failed to perceive a substantial and unjustifiable risk, and that failure to perceive the risk was a gross deviation from the standard of care a reasonable person would show.”

Brady’s attorney Flynn Carey subsequently said that they are “grateful to law enforcement and the county attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and confirming that this was a tragic accident.”

The statement concluded, “Brady remains in the midst of the grieving process and is thankful to be with his family as they heal together. We appreciate the compassion and support shown during this difficult time.”

Emilie Kiser’s Husband Lost Sight of Son Trigg Before Drowning: Report

July 31

Emilie sought to block the public from seeing documents that allegedly showed the reasoning behind the investigators’ recommendation of criminal charges against Brady. Emilie alleged that redacted documents could stop possible “disturbing” content, including reenactments with artificial intelligence.

“The section of the report Ms. Kiser seeks to redact contains information and context that is critical to provide the public a reasonably full understanding of the investigation of the drowning, the police department’s decision to recommend criminal charges and the county attorney’s decision not to pursue criminal charges,” Matthew Kelley, a lawyer for The Arizona Republic said at the time.

August 8

Us confirmed that Emilie was successful in redacting pages of the police report related to Trigg’s drowning. The police report was released on August 8, shedding insight into the day Trigg fell into the pool.

“We’re grateful to Judge Whitten for carefully balancing the important interests at stake and allowing a narrow but meaningful redaction to the Chandler police report, removing two pages that detail the graphic final moments of Trigg’s life,” Emilie’s attorney Shannon Clark told Us in a statement at the time. “These redactions do not alter any material facts of the accident, but they protect the dignity of a little boy whose memory should reflect the love and light he brought to the world.”

The statement concluded, “From the start, this has been about protecting Trigg and the family’s ability to grieve privately. This decision allows them, and the public, to remember him for the beautiful life he lived, not the tragic way it ended.”

August 28

Emilie broke her silence for the first time after Trigg’s death, sharing that “no family should ever have to endure” the “pain, heartache and void” they have experienced.

“I take full accountability as Trigg’s mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him,” she wrote via Instagram. “One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it’s something I will never overlook again. I hope amidst this pain, Trigg’s story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss.”

Emilie shared that the “only way through grief is to keep going minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day and every moment since that day I’ve done my best to keep picking myself up.”
