
A Lisbon man allegedly hit a woman with his SUV in the Topsham Market Basket parking lot and then fled the scene.
Jeremy Hunter, 46, has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct and driving to endanger, according to the Topsham Police Department.
Hunter was allegedly accelerating through the Market Basket parking lot about 2:40 p.m. Sunday when he hit 72-year-old Althea Kennedy-Ecker of Lisbon in a crosswalk.
He also allegedly nearly hit her son and a Market Basket employee pushing shopping carts.
Kennedy-Ecker was seriously injured and rushed to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Police tracked Hunter down to Route 1 in Brunswick, where he was taken into custody.
Hunter was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where he was being held on $50,000 bail.
