The only remaining couple from season 3 of Farmer Wants a Wife — John Sansone and Claire Dinette — have officially called it quits.
John, 25, confirmed their split on Saturday, August 16, while referencing their last public appearance earlier this month, writing via Instagram, “I would like to share that Claire and I ended our relationship shortly after Lollapalooza, over a week ago.”
The reality star didn’t reveal the specifics of what led to them parting ways but hinted at facing challenges behind closed doors.
“This was a mutual decision based on private challenges, and had nothing to do with any reposts. While I’ll always appreciate and respect the time we shared together, I feel it’s best to move forward separately,” John continued. “While our relationship was public, I wish for this chapter to remain as private as possible. Thank you for your kindness and support.”

Claire, 24, shared John’s announcement via her Instagram Story and wrote, “I ain’t reading all that but ditto.”
Claire previously hinted at the breakup with a cryptic TikTok which showed her lip-synching lyrics from Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Don’t Smile.”
“Don’t smile because it happened, baby, cry because it’s over / I want you to miss me, I want you to miss me,” Claire sang in the social media post, which included the Farmer Wants a Wife hashtag.
John and Claire were the last couple still left standing when the Fox series’ season 3 finale aired in May. John chose Claire over finalist Lily Ayres.
“Claire and Lily and I, leading up to [the final decision], had been knowing what this [show] was and knowing what we were all in for,” John exclusively told Us Weekly. “I was trying to keep the camaraderie as strong as possible throughout it. I would’ve been shocked if Lily or Claire in a different situation had just blown up on me.”
John admitted he originally “didn’t have a first impression of Claire,” but things changed as they kept exploring their connection.
“Afterwards we have these things called OTFs, which [are] on-the-fly interviews about each and every date,’” he added. “And after the speed dates in Alabama, I remember saying to the camera something like, ‘Yeah, Claire was a great girl. She seemed very sweet and nice and soft-spoken, but the date was just kind of dull.’”

Claire, for her part, said she was “extremely nervous and anxious” about being on the show, telling Us, “I don’t remember our first conversation by any means. So I had no first impression of John at all.”
At the time, the duo addressed how their different values factored into them navigating a relationship.
“I think that’s a very beneficial thing to have in any relationship,” John explained. “Personally, I’m not a big fan of echo chambers. I can’t stand them. I gotta get away from them. So, I think it’s pretty interesting and fun to go through this with somebody who has a different outlook on certain things in life.”
Claire also weighed in on John’s interest in marrying someone who would stay home with their kids.
“I guess I wasn’t super surprised that he felt that way,” she told Us. “And I mean, I don’t think it was anything I was immediately adamantly against. I’m happy to learn from him and I think he learns from me. And that’s one really strong point we have is our ability to communicate. So any difference or problem that we’ve had, we’ve been able to talk through. And I think that I would be surprised if there was something that we couldn’t figure out and talk through in the future.”
