
NORTH HAVEN, Maine — A boat with 11 people aboard struck a ledge Sunday and sank.
The 22-foot recreational motorboat crashed and sank about 100 feet from shore near Stand-In Point on North Haven at about noon, according to the communications director for the Maine Department of Marine Resources.

Eleven passengers were onboard at the time. All of them were able to reach safety by using a paddle board to ferry themselves to shore, according to DMR. One passenger had a minor injury and was treated at the scene by the North Haven Fire Department. The U.S. Coast Guard also responded.
According to Marine Patrol, the boat owner is making arrangements to salvage the boat.
